It's just a poll, but this is how it begins.
U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder is facing calls to resign from Republican members of Congress in recent days. They accuse him, among other things, of stonewalling congressional investigators on the botched "Fast and Furious" gunrunning sting and refusing to investigate recent national security leaks. One of his GOP critics, Texas Sen. John Cornyn, also faulted Holder for challenging Florida's effort to purge non-citizens from its voting rolls. Holder rejected the resignation calls, accusing Republicans of trying to score political points. Is Holder failing to meet his obligations as attorney general, or is he the victim of a partisan witch hunt? Is he too political, or just unafraid to take on issues that others in his position would avoid? Is he a liability or an asset for the Obama re-election campaign? Talk about it!

I guess his current investigation of voter fraud in Florida might be it, but he hasn't exactly been hard-balling anybody.

(46,671 posts)I would say that's how they got Clinton, except Clinton intentionally put Republicans in places where they could help the right-wingers destroy him. Can't think of the chappie's name off the bat.
And then there was Janet Reno. As strong as she was it was tough for her to overcome Waco.
I think they know they can't take Obama out with a direct blow, so they're looking for the weak links. Not that Holder is weak. Just that they are going to test everyone, eventually.

(31,776 posts)His office's recent investigations in Florida are a strong indicator of what his office would begin to lead on November 6th - if the exit polls don't match the votes.

(31,999 posts)will give a few points back if he is investigating Florida. That is good news.
But - I also think . . . if the Right leadership is boxer bunching over this - like they did Shirley Sherrod and Van Jones - and we've learned what stellar people they are . . .
Then this probably just railroading on the Koch Brother's part.

(16,113 posts)Holder has done (or has NOT done) many things that would lead one to call for his resignation.
