I've created a Tumblr to spread the word about Neil Munro and how he keeps popping up at famous events to heckle people.

The basics are set up for images, but I might need help uploading them all:

I've downloaded a folder of 141 Neil Munro Interrupts Images from Spitfire of ATJ's thread alone.

I excluded only a couple images (from my upload folder, anyhoof) that didn't fit the meme.

I also uploaded an explanatory intro and lame54's compilation video.

I don't really have much experience using Tumblr, so assistance is needed in actually
uploading the photos. I didn't want to upload them en masse and screw up the formatting or bury the OP.
I'm still up for doing most of it if I'm able to get pointers from someone.

PM me if you want to share duties in accessing the Tumblr and uploading all this original content. (With DUers permission of course)

Also let me know if any of it is from another site besides DU, i.e. that has picked up on the same meme.

Also feel free to help by spamming the link around the interwebs.

Or try sending people this link for SFW title and ease of spelling.

Best way to give more folks a chance to see stuff like this, if it's especially elaborate, is to upload examples to a reblogger engine like Tumblr.

Tumblr's basically like Twitter for pictures and long journal entries.

People can follow it and forward along individual entries to friends.

And it is a stable imagehost (allows images to be resized for reposting on blogs.)

I'm not a big fan of the interface but it's viral media, and it allows people to do trackback links to DU.

5. I haven't uploaded them yet. I wanted to get a) the permission of Spitfire, and

And b) assistance or maybe just some pointers in how best to upload them, since I haven't used Tumblr in the past.

E.g. 1. how should the images be posted, singly or in batches?

2. what posting format should I use to upload them?
a. I want to use one where the image is uploaded to tumblr's image server, and auto-resized to fit the screen.

3. will they automatically bury the original posts, or can it be inverted so oldest >> top?

Which is preferable for most people unfamiliar with the origin of the Neil Munro thing.

If anyone has done this before and posted on the Original Thread I can give them access to the Tumblr as well,
since many hands makes light work (I'll cc' them a list of the images I wanted to upload.)

23. Hmmm, ok, not many responses to anything of late. I went thru hours of work tonight

Pulling together all the pics and dating / identifying them, much more than I thought it would take.

Should I bother putting the pics on this Tumblr page for all DUers to enjoy?

Or should I assume it'd get little response here on DU, in which case it's not worth the effort?
