The Comey letter is the FBI's Bush v. Gore

Except we get to react to it BEFORE the election. We have no one to blame but ourselves if we don't.

I'd like to see protesters outside the FBI's offices every day until the election. The Dem-friendly members of the media need to keep hammering them. The FBI is now a tarnished agency, just like the Scalia Supreme Court was after Bush v. Gore. The whole Wiener sexting investigation was probably just a fishing expedition on Hillary all along.

This is nothing more than a diversion at their most desperate moment ever.

Oct. 23. Porn star Jessica Drake claims Donald Trump offered her $10G, use of his private jet for sex

Donald Trump’s offer of $10,000 and the use of his private jet couldn’t turn a porn star into a prostitute.

Jessica Drake — whose credits include “Sex for Sale” and “Think Pink” — claims she rejected the billionaire’s crude come-ons during a 2006 golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, Calif.

“This is not acceptable behavior for anyone — much less a presidential candidate,” the adult film star said ........

Oct. 25. Donald Trump hosted wild parties with sex, cocaine and underage models: report

..... Trump allowed the attendees to do whatever drugs they wanted, the photographer said. As guests partied hard on coke and top-shelf liquor, the mogul would stroll from room to room and hook up with girls.

“He'd wander off with a couple girls. I saw him. He was getting laid like crazy," the photographer said. "Trump was at the heart of it. He loved the attention and in private, he was a total f---ing beast.” .....

Ninni Laaksonen, a former Miss Finland in the Miss Universe competition that Trump once owned, alleged in an interview with the Finnish newspaper Ilta-Sanomat that Trump groped her before an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman in 2006.

“Before the show we were photographed outside the building,” Laaksonen said, according to a translation provided by The Telegraph. “Trump stood right next to me and suddenly he squeezed my butt. He really grabbed my butt.

“I don’t think anybody saw it but I flinched and thought: ‘What is happening?’”

Laaksonen said that she had been told at other events that year that Trump found her attractive because she reminded him of his wife, Melania, whom he had married the year before.

“Somebody told me there that Trump liked me because I looked like Melania when she was younger,” Laaksonen said. “It left me disgusted.”

4. What effect do you expect from tarnishing the FBI further? Does that win any elections?

You might be angry at the FBI, and it might make you feel better to attack them, but I don't see that it helps Hillary or any other Dem candidate come Tuesday. It might help Democratic election chances, very slightly, if Comey or Lynch would make a public apology exonerating HRC, but public pressure is not going going to make that happen in the next nine days. Meanwhile, by protesting, you sould be keeping the email issue in front of voters' attention.

Anybody who is going to vote against HRC and the Dems due to manufactured scandals has decades of them to dwell on. They'll say she wiggled out of this one, and might believe she's guilty but clever -- that she gets away with things because that's what crooked politicians do. That is the fantasy Trump is pushing and will continue to push regardless. Even if you could convince any of those voters that the email scandal is bogus, they would still believe she did all that other (imaginary) stuff she's been accused of over the last 30 years. Trump voters are not Trump voters because of the email scandal. They use the email scandal, Benghazi, imaginary health problems, you name it, as a justification of the attitudes they will continue to hold even if you manage to revoke one of their many such pretenses. I never saw one person say they would vote against her solely because of the email issue. They vote against her because they hate her and everything she stands for. Email is just a convenient justification.

Attacking the FBI will not improve Dem chances on November 8th. If there is any way she can sway any marginal voters between now and then, it is by hammering on the issues and her plans for the future. She knows that and that's what she's doing. In fact, dragging out the news duration of attacks as you propose is Donald's special mistake. She doesn't fall for it.

6. This is a direct abuse of power and politicizing of the FBI. It is also very probably a violation

of the Hatch Act.

While I do not believe that protests in front of the FBI office will accomplish much, I absolutely believe that the campaign and their surrogates MUST push back on this very forcefully.

This can't be substituted for "the issues", because the media won't let it, and the campaign MUST take the offensive on this

The lessons from the Swift Boating of John Kerry should NEVER be forgotten

Hillary Clinton Maintains Swing State Leads As Comey Email Letter Flops
By Jason Easley on Sun, Oct 30th, 2016 at 10:52 am
Republicans hoped that FBI Director James Comey's letter about new Clinton related emails would swing the election for them, but a new series of CBS News Battleground polls shows Clinton keeping her lead and within 2 points of Trump in Arizona.
. . .
Battleground tracker found that by a small margin Comey’s letter made Democrats more likely (net +7) to support Clinton. . . .
