It is quite likely that the GOP will use its "caucus room" strategy to continue to obstruct everything Hillary proposes. So we can probably count on a continuing status quo as long as the GOP has any power.

At least she can still manage Federal agencies, appoint judges (she is NOT going to put up with obstruction of her ability to appoint a Justice to replace Scalia or anybody else), and do some good at some level until we get some relief at the Congressional level.

(347 posts)However, a country cannot be productively governed with over 40% of its voters being dumb, uneducated or disturbed to the point of casting their votes to the extreme right. This amorphous blob will trickle to all down-ballot elections and prolonged the stalemate. The only optimistic solution to this conundrum would be the end of the two-party system and the beginning of the multi-party system common in all others western democracies.
