""The Castro Connection" how Trump's Company violated the embargo against Cuba"
They secretly conducted business in Cuba during Castro's presidency despite strict embargo from the US.
Spent a min of $68 000 for the foray into Cuba, funneled the money into Cuba illegally and pretended to link the money to a charitable effort.
He conducted business in Havana illegally while skirting the embargo, and lied about it at the time when he first considered running for President in 2000.

(31,443 posts)I wondered why Trump said he would close doors again to Cuba if he becomes president. If he kept doors open he would loose money.

The best they could do is try to sue the government for the value of the property--and in the case of the fincas, to say nothing of the businesses in highly desirable areas, that value is substantial. I doubt the government would give them the true value of the properties if anything at all.

(54,787 posts)How many Americans do you think like it that Trump broke tax laws with his charity to pay zero taxes? How many like that he thinks that makes him smart and them dumb?
How many Americans like him bribing Attorneys General over Trump University?
Nobody cares he broke the embargo law and used a charity to conceal it?

(54,770 posts)they could get. After a few years, the embargo should have been lifted anyway.
I hope it negatively impacts him, but I doubt it will. His ignorant, racist base won't care.

Many companies aren't running for president, or elected to make laws.
If you make a law, you respect it. That's a fundamental.
This goes to his character. He breaks the law continuously.
Oh, and seemingly he used foundation money to pay for the trip too! So, self-dealing too!
