GOP Strategist:'I am standing at my kitchen counter sobbing because of messages being driven at DNC'

Richard A. "Rich" Galen is a columnist and Republican strategist and former press-secretary to Vice President Dan Quayle and Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich

How can it be that I am standing at my kitchen counter sobbing because of the messages being driven at the DNC? Where has the GOP gone?

1. Maybe the strategist should re-think which party he wants to work for.

Or at least consider an entirely different line of work.

2. He is in the early stages of grieving

His party is dead after experiencing a long terminal illness. Perhaps he will reach acceptance during that process.

3. It went exactly where its leaders wanted it to go

when they threw all the rule books out during Nixon's campaign and then started to make deals with devils to grab power.

Don't tell me you're surprised by what happened when you decided not to play by accepted rules for 40 years and then courted the absolute worst people in this country as useful idiots.

You got just what you always wanted, doofus, now enjoy the result.

16. They keep trying the Enemy of my Enemy strategy

thinking that they can court The Crazies, and they'll fall I live.

NEWS FLASH: The Enemy of your Enemy doesn't like you either; they're just willing to use you to get what they want, but you're next.

5. I think this is the convergence of three things-

An inevitable breakdown in their cognitive dissonance, recognizing who their party serves vs. hurts, combined with the awful realization they've put party ahead of priciple.
Here's the Boehner breakdown-

...reading a fast-food menu, the electric bill, a dog food commercial on television. It didn't take much.

10. Uh...

Because Faux or the likes of Limpballs didn't TELL them to see it coming. You obviously overlook the fact that we're talking about people who don't/can't think for themselves, and favor being TOLD what to think.

8. They enabled and embraced the hate talk radio and Faux Snooze

that insulted women, minorities, LGBTQ, differently-abled, anyone of a religion not their own (or those having none at all), those who are poor despite trying to get ahead, who are being blocked every step of the way by GOP policies, and any non-European descended immigrants, notably those who were POC. And rather than calling out the Glenn BecKKKs or Rushbo the Hutts, or Savage Wieners for trying to "Make America White Again", they double-down defended the vomitous spew, helping the hate to grow and fester among their followers, and leading to the hulking wreck of a candidate and RNC convention that we saw.

9. I saw several tea bag commentators claim the Dems had stolen the Repug message

or at least the repugs from the past.
What horse shit.

No repug has stood for people in any way before or since Eisenhower, a man whose name must not be spoken.
Man they live in a fantasy world.

Although the mainstream GOP never really accepted TR as one of theirs, and possibly vice-versa, too.

12. They're upset that we are at least willing to play the game now.

Wave enough flags, cheer USA, tell them that they're the greatest people on the planet & throw in some "Jesus" meat. But we do it the Dem-way when we put an emigrant Medal Of Honor winner to speak for us.

This is how we win.

14. We have not stolen anything from them

We are the only remaining party that still thinks America is great.

The dumb ass republicans are just now figuring out that saying you will make America great again is pretty much the same as saying America sucks. It took Democrats to make them realize it.

Trumps ultimate con.

Hillary and company will spend the next 4 months reminding Americans that the republicans hate America!!

Where have all the Gopers gone, long time passing?
Where have all the Gopers gone, long time ago?
Where have all the Gopers gone?
Gone to fascists every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Thank you. (takes bow)

32. It's hitting home, that they can't survive on Clinton smears

When you look at even the most insane conspiracy-fueled nonsense, even if you swallow it 100%, Trump still comes out looking orders of magnitude times worse.

Of horrors, she MIGHT be as bad as Bill. Don't we remember what it was like in 1999? All that peace and prosperity really must have sucked for Republicans.

Not that anything would compel me not to vote Democratic. But it's really weird. Really weird.
