High school teacher shows students a video of Luka Magnotta killing and dismembering his lover

A Montreal teacher has been suspended for showing students a grisly video of a Chinese student allegedly killed and dismembered by his lover last month, officials said Wednesday.

The teacher at Cavelier-De Lasalle, a high school in southern Montreal, showed the video to a class of mainly 15 year-olds on June 4, the school board said. That was the day Luka Rocco Magnotta, dubbed the "Canadian Psycho," was arrested in Berlin after fleeing Canada.

Magnotta is believed to have stabbed Lin Jun -- a Chinese national studying at Montreal's Concordia University -- with an ice pick, before dismembering the victim's body and sending his body parts to federal political parties and two schools in Vancouver.

The school board said it "absolutely and unanimously condemns the teacher's gesture, which was to allow students to see a video that was both inappropriate and offensive."
