Paul Manafort on plagiarism allegation: Plagiarized? "Of course not" "These are common words."

Manafort tells me the Trump team knew Melania Trump's speech would be the most scrutinized of the convention. Plagiarized? "Of course not".

Just talked to Paul Manafort. He says there was no plagiarism, the lines from Melania Trump's speech weren't lifted.

Manafort to me on plagiarism allegation: "These are common words."

See? She didn't plagiarize. She merely used the same common words in the exact same order as Michelle Obama. It could have happened to anyone. (Snort)

I am typing this using common words. See is a common word. Spot is a common word. Run is a common word.

See Spot. See Spot run. Run, Spot, run. <~~ I typed that using common words. Any similarity to the (Sally) Dick and Jane books is purely coincidental.

Or not.

"Out, damned spot"

The words can all be as common as dirt, but if you string more than three of them together - consecutively - you"ve got plagiarism.

What a PR disaster. For them.
Every questionable thing they say now gets extra scrutiny
and just adds power to the Phony Trump positioning.

and they didn't know until it was over.

Not sure if this message was Trump approved or not, but Manafort is now saying Melania did it - and not speech writers or the staff - and they didn't know she had added to the prepared speech.

So that's excuse number 2 so far.
