It ain't the crime, it is the cover up that gets them every time.

I think the Zimmermans are in a whole pile of shit quite apart from the murder charge and the perjury charge.

Records show Shellie Zimmerman in the days before the hearing transferred $74,000 in eight smaller amounts ranging from $7,500 to $9,990, from her husband's credit union account to hers, according to an arrest affidavit.

They are potentially going to get charged with money laundering offenses on top of the perjury charges. She made a deliberate effort to conceal transactions (by initiating a series of under $10,000 transactions) to further a crime (the perjury charge) and he is going to be wrapped up in this set of actions too.

They have now fucked with the judge, embarrassed the police, and thumbed their noses at the DA's office. I'm thinking this is a rather silly way to go about getting away with murder.

as they were more than willing to let Zimmerman contradict himself while they were strong-arming witnesses on his behalf (not behest).

But you're certainly correct; seems stupid is as stupid does...

What that leaves out though is that there's also measures, both human and automatic, looking for people who are conspicuously avoiding transfers that size. The assumption being, quite correctly, that if you're trying to hide tens of thousands of dollars from the government, you're probably doing so for illegal reasons.

I thought criminal conspiracy charges would be filed against her as well, but it is certainly possible that they will be later. I am sure a criminal conspiracy case takes more time to build so it is possible the prosecution is merely holding off on those charges until they have gathered more evidence.

His life will never be the same and that's the way it should be. It's always easier to get into something than it is to get out of it.

Enough punishment to fit the huge, egregious, uncaring, warped, morally detestable nature of the crimes of this man. Pile it on. Lock his ass up. Leaving dead bodies in your wake should carrry LOTS more penalty. And yes that goes for Presidents too.
