I wonder if any white politician can ever admit that Truth?

vs. primary? If so, I agree. Seems a lot quieter.

I have never seen DU so dead.

(1,339 posts)2. I am sure plenty have said words to that effect
Words alone will not change it.

Speaking to a largely African-American audience at the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Philadelphia, Clinton also addressed the fatal shootings of five Dallas officers Thursday night, acknowledging the heightened racial tension in the country. But she also said it was important to acknowledge the "implicit bias" in society and some police departments and, in particular, called on white Americans to empathize with African-Americans.

But not convincing.
And too little, too late?

(25,406 posts)7. Bernie Sanders is another white politician who has mentioned this.
I am also talking about institutional racism. About people like Sandra Bland, and Michael Brown. I am talking about unarmed African Americans killed while in police custody.

To outright stating that Truth.

(2,535 posts)5. I am white and I see it. I also see the cops lean towards more powerful of
of the two if there is conflict. Cops don't stop the new cars blasting 15 mph above the speed limit but the people in the old cars going 5 mph under. I don't think it is the choice of the patrolman but rather the systems priorities set by the fat cat bosses.
