Anders Behring Breivik is lying, not delusional

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/norway/9324267/Anders-Behring-Breivik-is-lying-not-delusional.html

(yes that's the actual headline)

Eirik Johannesen told a court in Oslo that Breivik himself did not believe either in the existence of the Knights Templar, the anti-Islamic brotherhood under whose aegis he claims to have carried out last July's brutal terror attacks, or in the group's inaugural meeting he claims to have attended in London in 2002.

"I think it is to make it seem more large and meaningful," Mr Johannesen tells the court. "He wants to recruit people into a network, and it is not easy if he is alone. So it helps to create fear, and he wants those he sees as enemies to live in fear." When prison psychiatrists pressed Breivik on how difficult some of his claims were to believe, Mr Johannesen reported, the extremist had sometimes smiled and said, "I am a salesman."

Breivik has admitted to killing eight people through a bomb attack in central Oslo and then killing 69 more at a shooting spree at a labour youth camp on Utoya island, outside Oslo.

This makes the question the court is addressing this week – whether he suffers mental illnesses which removes responsibility – the most important of the trial.

Au contraire, mon frere.

"Officially endorsed by the Catholic Church around 1129, the Order became a favored charity throughout Christendom, and grew rapidly in membership and power. "
