ABC news: Orlando shooter was licensed for guns (contradicting the position

of the NRA that only law-abiding people will follow license or registration laws.)

http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/orlando-nightclub-massacre/orlando-nightclub-shooting-emergency-services-respond-reports-gunman-n590446

Mateen had active security officer and firearm licenses, according to Florida records, and his family said he worked in security. Marriage records show he was married in Port St. Lucie in 2009, and a relative said he had a 3-year-old son.

The incident is being investigated as an act of terrorism, officials said.

Mir Seddique, Mateen's father told NBC News, "this has nothing to do with religion." Seddique said his son got angry when he saw two men kissing in Miami a couple of months ago and thinks that may be related to the shooting.

1. Was this a concealed-carry permit?

A religion that, on its radical fringes, teaches that homosexuality is a sin punishable by death. The father's comment would be funny if this wasn't so damn tragic.

6. I'm not arguing that it doesn't.

But that's not the circumstances that we are dealing with today (6/12/16)

8. Because ISIS thinks it is at war with the US. ISIS has called for an uptick in killing this month.

This guy pledged himself to ISIS. ISIS is congratulating this attack as a victory. ISIS is a radical fringe group of Islam. Is this really that hard?

11. ISIS is a militant wing of Islam, by their own definition.

Again, what's so hard to get about this?

And I really think you're barking up the wrong tree. I'm not Christian, and I don't support the radical wing of my religion who feel that Gay folk are living in sin and will be punished by God.

It's all insane. If this circumstances what a Christian or a Jew or a Rasta or whatever killing someone based on the calls of an international military wing of their religion, I would be calling them out as well. That isn't the case here.

12. So is the militant anti choice murderers in America, seems like a one way application of who hates..

... or teaches hate.

There's no need to extrapolate a religion in verbiage IMHO

14. There is no reason to stick our fingers in our ear and act like its not religious influence

and name the religion that is DOING the influencing. There is no point in that at all. No matter what religion it is.

Mainstream Americanized Islam? Probably not.

So called- Radical Islam? Absolutely.

18. Again, you're extrapolating a religion in verbiage ... ANY radical sect of any religion or idealolog

... will do the same there's no need to extrapolate any of them.

And what is the "Americanized" version of Islam?

the largest population of Muslims in the world don't teach any of this and they're NOT in the US.

A small sect of stupids do that just like a small sect of stupids in any religion do such... this is a known known

19. And if they based it on the teaching of said religion, then the relgion is influicing them

Thats your argument right?

The Torah, the Old Testament and Quran all teach that homosexuality is a sin punishable by death. Have enlightened members of these religions taken a (much) more liberal view of this? Sure. Are there some that haven't? Obviously. Why can't we say the name of the religion that influenced this particular guy?

Like I said, I'll be happy to call out the next guy's religion, regardless of what it is.

5. False.

This contradicts nothing. Florida bans guns in clubs/bars....even for those with carry licenses.

10. That isn't what this says:

https://www.uslawshield.com/florida-gun-law/

Further, even with a CWFL these weapons may not be carried concealed in the following places, pursuant to Section 790.06(12)(a), Florida Statutes:

SNIP

Any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to such purpose. (Unfortunately, this law is ambiguous and appears to be subject to interpretation with regard to restaurants with bars or other places licensed to serve alcohol which serve other purposes such as casinos and other places of entertainment. We have researched this issue including contacting the concealed weapons division of the Florida Department of Agriculture and have received this response. While this letter and its opinion are not authoritative, the general sense is that concealed weapons may be legally carried by a CWFL holder into a business that serves alcohol but not as a primary business, however a concealed weapons carrier should stay out of portions of that business where the service of alcohol is the primary function, i.e., the bar area of a restaurant.)

17. Incorrect.

Read the statement in bold. It is NOT legal to carry in bars/clubs.

You might be able to carry into a restaurant that serves alcohol per the nonauthoritative interpretation you posted.

Pulse was a club and accordingly, guns are banned from being carried in Florida.

The law reads:

(12)(a) A license issued under this section does not authorize any person to openly carry a handgun or carry a concealed weapon or firearm into:

12. Any portion of an establishment licensed to dispense alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises, which portion of the establishment is primarily devoted to such purpose;
