Catholic doctrine and employer health insurance

The Catholic Bishops don't want to offer birth control as part of their employees' health insurance package, since it conflicts with their doctrine.

Catholic doctrine doesn't recognize divorce (under usual circumstances - Newt Gingrich and his first two wives are exceptions). If divorced employee of the Church remarries and wants health insurance for a new spouse, does the Church allow this?

My employer (not a religious organization) wanted to purge all employees from the insurance rolls unless they were legally married. They asked to see marriage licenses (I had been married over 40 years at the time). Does the Catholic Church check the marital ststus of their employees?
