by Baylor football players. There have been about double digit sexual assaults by Baylor football players over many years during his tenure and evidence that Baylor tried to cover these cases up has caught the eye of several National media outlets. How ironic-Ken Starr is now the focus of a Special Investigation into the Scandal and its report is due soon. A terrible and unethical lawyer who failed to find anything but a BJ by the President but yet when he has an opportunity to actually remedy sexual assault victims he turns a blind eye for the sake of a winning Football program

(21,046 posts)A Methodist minister was asked his opinion of Ken Starr, because they grew up together. This minister was reluctant to say anything bad about anybody, so when he was asked about Ken Starr, he wouldn't say anything one way or the other.

Personally, I know a few Baptists that do decent work to help others. But most other helpful ones seem to come from other denominations.
But when it comes to judging others, I put the Baptists in first place.

(61,692 posts)Not just him. There are plenty of great Christians who live their faith as Christ taught. I didn't mean to impugn all Christians, just those which self-serving agendas in positions of power ("these are men..." .

(36,827 posts)Lots of Baptist universities maintain no affiliation with any Baptist convention. Baylor still does, but those ties aren't really that significant even though the regents are still mostly Baptist. Starr isn't even a Baptist. The most Baptist thing about the university is the seminary, which is really a small part of the university as a whole. It's not at all like some Christian universities that are a seminary first and everything else is secondary.

(907 posts)Notre Dame is another university that is affiliated with a major denomination. Look at their record. It's a long one that goes all the way back to the summer of 1974, if not even earlier than that. As a Christian, I find the hypocrisy to be stunning. It bothers me a great deal. Football before faith.
