Welcome to California, Mr. Trump.

Welcome to California, Mr. Trump.

Trump exits the Hyatt just as he entered; through back door and over freeway barrier to awaiting motorcade.

Donald Trump got a small dose of his own medicine on Friday when he had to cross over a wall to avoid large protests at the California Republican convention in suburban San Francisco.

1. Trump wasn't breaking the law by renting out a facility. There's no justification for yesterday's

behavior. Destroying property is not freedom of speech. Criminal behavior can never be justified. The Republicans will have a hard time reuniting before the general unless the foolish actions like we witnessed yesterday continue.

28. Been in the country long?

Ever read the first amendment of the Constitution? It's called freedom of speech AND every citizen in this country has the right to express their opinions most particularly regarding politicians and their platforms and policies. The vast majority of the protesters were peaceful with the exception of people who think like you do who went there specifically to cause trouble by acting out against the protest. This is America and we have the right to protest against idiots who manipulate the system to gain power for nefarious purposes.

And just what property was damaged? Can you provide some evidence of your claim?

See that's how Democracy works, if you don't like it, fine, you also have the right to disapprove, but you don't have the right to deny others their rights.

29. You know very little about our Constitution. Trump and his supporters are entitled to those same

rights of which you speak. Yes, EVERY CITIZEN IN THIS COUNTRY HAS THE RIGHT TO EXPRESS THEIR OPINIONS. Just not a special group that you assign. Trump rented that facility, invited guests and had every right to use that facility. No one has the right to obstruct his right. To call Trump supporters who were invited to attend as "people who went there to start trouble" is absolutely ridiculous. If a Sanders event was trying to be shut down by Trump supporters, I guarantee you wouldn't describe Sanders' attendees as "people who only showed up to start trouble". You have a very skewed and self serving view of our Constitution.

30. I was there--you are wrong.

Trump didn't rent the venue, so you are wrong off the bat. It was the CAGOP convention. They were not his guests, they are Republican convention goers.

The street is public property, and that is where protesters were protesting. We have every right to protest in the street.

If he wanted to deliver his address from the top of the limo, no one would have stopped him. He chose to sneak around like a rat because citizens were exercising THEIR civil rights.

33. It was a fun day.

My mom was at home, but she was so excited, she texted me when she saw Trump get caught by the helicopters jumping over the embankments like a toad.

There were other parents and kids there. The media just focuses on the silly stuff.

32. Actually, it's you who has a very skewed and self serving view of our Constitution.

And limited access to truth and reason.

Getting it right about the facts is crucial so please pay attention...

1. It was the California Republican Convention, NOT a drumpf rally, HE DID NOT RENT THE FACILITY. It was a Republican Party of California event where drumpf was invited to speak.

2. It is clear that you have never been to a protest nor do you seem to understand why anyone would protest injustice and the proclaimed platform of (a) candidate(s) who espouses unconstitutional polices of injustice and divisive rhetoric while condoning violence as the answer to anything.

3. You obviously have little grasp of the concept that facts are important here. Drumpf supporters were not invited to this event beyond those who are vying for selection as delegates for the national convention... which I'd wager you don't understand either since your grasp of the process is extremely limited.

So the poor billionaire was momentarily inconvenienced, gosh, how dare those dirty protesters do that to him and his precious hair.

Here......

11. I have no problem with exercising First Amendment rights. I have a problem with violating the

rights of others in the process. Trump rented out that facility and had every right to use that facility yesterday. If you don't know that arrests were made and property was destroyed, then you haven't bothered to follow the story. Authoritarianism is unjustly taking away the rights of others. The protesters were the ones doing that yesterday.

19. Your candidate denies the activism of the People and claims only Republicans do the right thing:

"It may be hard for your viewers to remember how difficult it was for people to talk about HIV/AIDS back in the 1980s and because of both president and Mrs. Reagan in particular Mrs. Reagan we started a national conversation, when before nobody would talk about it, nobody wanted to do anything about it, and that too is something I really appreciate with her very effective low-key advocacy. It penetrated the public conscience and people began to say, hey, we have to do something about this too."

So of course you side with Trump against the protesters just as Hillary sides with Reagan against ACT UP and other LGBT AIDS activism groups. At least your cohort is consistent in that.

26. Nah, not fascists, just very angry people trying to protect those with less power.

Any illegal acts are wrong, and there is no justification for them.

People are not perfect, when their very existence like the Jewish folks with Nazi's and WWII is up for grabs, they react certain ways that might be a little destructive.

37. Which is why people like you have NEVER changed anything throughout history at all.

Did America win its independence by adhering to law and order? Did the civil rights movement prevail by adhering to law and order? Was slavery ended by adhering to law and order? Did women win the right to vote by adhering to law and order? Did the 60's radicals end the war by adhering to law and order?

In case you're wondering, the answer to all those questions is a resounding no. Adhering to law and order is exactly what the status quo wants you to do.

CA is Democratic as far as the eye can see and beyond.

Former governor Pete Wilson made sure of it with his racist antics a few years back. Prop 187 killed the Rethug party in CA.

27. Free Spreech & being shown the door

I don't condone violence. However, I can't say that Trump has done much to dissuade it. He was absolutely due his right to rent the facility and spew whatever shit sandwich he was serving that day. However, others were within their right to let them know how they felt of him, and that they didn't want him stinking up their town or state. It's just how it goes. Hate begets hate

Does anyone here think the people cancelling and speaking out against North Carolina are wrong? Real people are being hurt because of it. Losing income from low paying jobs they depend on, and desperately need from tourism, events, etc. People who probably agree with many of, but are voiceless in the debate due to gerrymandering, etc. That doesn't mean I don't support what the boycott is doing, but all protests whether direct or indirect have consequence when you stand up against what is wrong.

38. The first amendment

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances

The key word is "peaceably." Once you throw a punch, once you start pushing people around, starting fights with the police, damaging property, or storming barricades, you are no longer a peaceful protester. You are breaking the law.
