This makes me SO sad, an old elephant died of a heart attack while carrying tourists

in Cambodia.

It's not right, it's just not right. Humans HAVE to stop supporting all the horrific treatment of animals; circuses, Seaworld, all those things...

Sambo, an elephant who was between 40 and 45 years, died of exhaustion after transporting tourists for years on his back, Cambodia, reports “The Independent” . This old elephant had been working in a 40C (104 Fahrenheit) heat wave.

The animal died of a cardiac arrest while carrying tourists to Angkor temple.

A veterinarian who examined him found that the death of the elephant was “due to high temperatures, heat stroke and lack of wind, which could help cool it.”

I'm so sick of that nonsense. There are lots of abusers, like the swine who worked this poor elephant to death. However, that does not mean that all animal-related entertainment, zoos, etc. are in any way abusive, neglectful, or impacting animals negatively in any way. It's easy and fun for self-proclaimed "animal rights activists" to attack a circus or a place like SeaWorld because it's a visible target and they can generate a ton of funds while doing that. But doing REAL good and REAL work, day after day, saving animals who are actually being mistreated? No, no... that's too hard, takes too much time and money. PETA and its buddies should be ended, and the people who actually care for animals and take on the important, individual cases - relief organizations who do so much good but unsung work - need to get more press and more support. I'm sick of the "we're touchy feely give us money" crowd that do nothing but turn people against the wrong targets, while doing no actual good for needy animals like this and not even attempting to stop serial abusers.
