A lot of GOPPERS still do not want to stay in the US and want to go their own way. Maybe next time we should delay any FEMA help if they get smacked by a natural disaster. We should tell them to pay their own way since they don't believe in the US Constitution.
It is amazing how they demand federal dollars when their ass get wiped by a natural disaster like a tornado, hurricane. flood or other problem. Perhaps all the fracking will result in Texass sliding off into the Gulf of Mexico.
Personally I am getting tired of their secession talk and the rest of us need to shut them up in some ways. Withholding help and telling them the reason why might bring them to their senses.
Just take away federal funds from the rest of the states and give them back only what THEY pay.

(68,918 posts)I don't know of a single person (Republican or Democratic) here who supports secession.
I "demand" nothing but a little respect from my fellow DUers. Take it somewhere else please.

(37,748 posts)You then believe the standard state request for emergency funds is a "demand?" Or is there a specific, objective and contextually accurate reason it applies to this particular case? Sure, we've had some hard weather the past few years, but I don't know any one person either demanding funds or demanding secession.
I'm guessing you're simply applying the sentiments of the melodramatic loud few, and then applying it to the whole. I think that's irrational, but I also think you'll attempt to creatively justify it as valid and sound thought. I look forward to that bit of bemusing creativity.

(24,692 posts)that did not happen so now they want Texas to secede from the US. You can be sure an independent Texas won't be joining any international organizations.
