Man holds up Wal-Mart with BB gun he stole from Wal-Mart
A Frederick man robbed the Wal-Mart off Guilford Drive last week using a BB gun stolen during a previous theft, according to county sheriff’s deputies.
The robbery was reported at 10 p.m. April 4 at the Wal-Mart. Employees told deputies a white man wearing a baseball cap pulled low over his face, a dark jacket and a black backpack displayed what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband to a cashier and made off with about $1,700 in cash, according to charging documents.
A store security officer recognized the robber as someone wanted in several recent shoplifting calls, the documents state.
No one was hurt during the robbery, in which the robber told the employee to hand over “the big bills” from the register, according to the documents.
