Bruce Springsteen crushed as he finds out Congressman listening to Justin Bieber instead

Seriously reading this is like saying I use to love dining in 5-star restaurants but decided to only eat at McDonalds and Arby's instead.

And obviously a bit of on the title because 50 years from now people will still be jamming to Bruce Springsteen songs but probably won't remember the name of this senator or a single Justin Bieber Song!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/congressman-mark-walker-bruce-springsteen_us_570a5bd4e4b0142232494129

Congressman Slams Bruce Springsteen As ‘Bully,’ May Support Justin Bieber Instead

While many people are cheering Bruce Springsteen’s decision to cancel a North Carolina concert in light of the state’s new anti-LGBT legislation, Rep. Mark Walker (R-N.C.) is not one of them.

In fact, the congressman told The Hollywood Reporter that he believes the rock star is being a bully.

“Bruce is known to be on the radical left,” Walker told the publication. “He’s got every right to be so, but I consider this a bully tactic. It’s like when a kid gets upset and says he’s going to take his ball and go home.”

<<<snip>>>

“We’ve got other artists coming soon — Def Leppard, Justin Bieber,” the congressman noted. “I’ve never been a Bieber fan, but I might have to go. Maybe artists who weren’t ‘born to run’ deserve a little bit more support.”

BTW the definition of bully to me is passing hateful laws to intimidate and belittle citizens of this country. Transgender Americans are also tax-paying citizens of this country and deserve the same rights as everyone else!

however they come from a bit farther away. but justin blabbermouth has more to lose if he goes thru ... so I guess this means if the bully from NC wants to push being an idiot he prefers England and Canda to USA. face palm. no problem with England or Canada but rooting against the boss most unwise.. it is a free country last time I checked. So The Boss is free to cancel.. Everyone does things in their own way. The only bully is someone who is forcing Women into mens bathrooms and Men in Women's bathrooms. Which is obviously Ironic given that was their excuse for making up the law...

Bon Jovi came here for the first time in 20 years and in order to get tickets I had to pay to become part of the fan club for a year to get early access.

I don't know much about Beyonce except that she is liberal, but if other artists cancel that may put pressure on her to cancel. All she can do is wait and see.

I still think Justin Bieber AND "The Boss" suck.

Just my preference, especially since Bruce has only two ways of singing, mumble mumble mumble and the sound made by a water buffalo that's been kicked in the nuts.

No, this is Bruce's choice, sure, he is losing the money he'd make having a concert in NC.
But principle is more important than money sometimes, and good for Bruce to stick up for his.

I learned along time ago that a successful singer doesn't necessarily have to have a great voice, just one that is "likable".. I've never bought a Boss album, but I always admired the way his fans worshiped him, his driving musical style and more recenlt his politics. Does the "The Boss suck"? IMHO it is YHO.

Not sure what people hear in his(Bieber's) 'music', pop stuff befuddles me, it's like music for those that don't know what it is.

When the band dumped Jon Anderson I was done. I know about Anderson's health issue that almost took his voice. He talked about it at the solo concert I saw him perform where his voice was fricking amazing.

I love YES but they are becoming the Lynyrd Skynyrd of Progressive Rock bands. Original members pretty much all gone and someone keeps trudging on with the concerts picking up replacements as needed. Might as well call this upcoming tour a YES tribute band concert.

Technically yes has no original members.. Steve Howe replaced Peter Banks, Wakeman replaced Kaye, Alan White replaced Bruford and since Chris Squire's passing, I think Billy Sherwood is touring as bassist and of course no Jon Anderson right now.. Only Howe and Wakeman are there from the Fragile and Close To The Edge days..

YES is the reason I love live music after watching the band jam for 20 minutes on 'Starship Trooper' at a concert in Hershey PA back in 1984. Sure that wasn't the original band either but it had Jon Anderson, Chris Squire and Tony Kaye who were all original (I always thought it was Wakeman who was the original keyboardist because his playing is so iconic).

Watching a band play the same song for 20 minutes and do it so fucking awesome made me realize that the pop radio shit was just that. If a song is really that good it doesn't have to fit in a 3-4 minute time period. That song changed my life and so did the band!

They even rearranged some of the older songs to fit his new skills and unavoidable change in style.

I thought that was very high initiative on his part and high loyalty on their part.

That's hilarious.

If I choose to take my business where bigotry is not codified into law, that is my right as a consumer or business. How is that now "bullying?" Is Rep. Mark Walker (R-N.C.) now saying that people are bullies for spending their money and time the way they choose?

He must hate the Free Market, then.

Fundies like Rep. Walker don't understand the word "privilege" either. I saw this on a sign:

"Privilege" is not having the same rights as other people even if you're different.

"Privilege" would be if transgender people didn't pay taxes.

Like churches that don't pay taxes.

If churches want to start dictating which civil laws our government enacts and forces on taxpayers, it's time churches lose some privilege.
