have been "reforming" military retirement since 1958 always to the detriment and disadvantage of the military retiree.

What have they done this time?

Able bodied persons don't need a pension at 37.

Young people who serve for 4 years should get some kind of benefit.

Republicans love to prance around in their flashy, flimsy tin, made-in-China flag lapel pins, and shout out to the sky about how 'patriotic' they claim to be, but when it comes to the budget their Corporate Cronies get the gravy, and the men and women who actually serve get screwed.

This is a deep Republican pattern, not an isolated incident.

Dems would do well to run heavy on retirement for all.

Simply the GOP and its allies favor the same kind of retirement and health set up for veterans even if disabled by their service as the regular work force. They believe that military service should be just like any other "work at will" job. In reality the GOP does not believe in any special treatment for veterans because it is a "voluntary" force.
