1. This bill of HATE was done in the dark of the night, hurried.

Were it not for hate and fear there would be no GOP .

10. McCrory called it a "bipartisan" bill...

Even though all the Democrats walked out in protest!

2. Come November, we need to get every vote we can in this state to clean out Raleigh.

The vermin in Raleigh are as evil as it gets in this country.

Are you in Asheville, G?

12. Not quite Alabama level...

but heading in that direction.

@PatMcCroryNC @NBA Don't these people ever learn. Exhibit A: #MikePence #Indiana Just write off the city you once governed. Kiss re-election goodbye, because it was Mecklenburg County that was the difference in your win.

13. Here's the thing - NC is actually a purple state leaning blue.

And that is what makes this especially frustrating for us. The gerrymandering locked these thugs into place. Dems have to turn out almost 2 votes for every one of theirs just to draw even in the NCGA.

14. NC is blue in parts.

Charlotte, Greensboro, Durham, and Asheville are Blue, the rest of the state isn't.

18. Don't forget Chapel Hill and Carrboro--which is most of Orange County. VERY blue!

Orange County was one of the few counties that went for Bernie in our primary earlier this month.

19. Forgot about Orange County

I didn't want to lump Chapel Hill which is liberal with Raleigh, who I'm not quite sure what to make of. I have personal experience about the cities I named, having only been to Chapel Hill once in the 20+ years I've lived in this state.

By the same token, one would think Greenville would be liberal due to ECU, and to a lesser extent, Boone with ASU and Cullowhee with WCU. Where I went to school is a University town but not particularly liberal, even though it had it's spots (Behind the Glass came to mind).

Nor will it ever be.

Our state is bluer every year.

22. It doesn't show

The Kochs own NC and are busy jerking it backward. It's certainly as bad as Georgia now. If this continues, it could rival Alabama.

I think it's even possible that NC will go for tRump. I'd like to think NC will dump McCrony. That might help turn things around, but much damage has been done.

24. Yep.

tRump has excellent chances in NC.

Here's some polling data--looks like it's too close to call right now. Need a 5 point difference to be beyond the margin of error.

32. Yes it's bluer.

And I have a biased seat living in Charlotte. For that to change, the Hickory, Morganton, Burlington, Rockingham of the state has to change, and I don't see that happening anytime soon.

The true test in a county such as Gaston, with a sizable A-A population in Gastonia and Rs in the balance of the county. The other suburban counties are pretty much R; Union (outside of Monroe), Cabarrus, Iredell, Lincoln, Rowan, Stanly, and Cleveland. Across the line, York County SC is R outside of Rock Hill proper. So is the Indian Land part of Lancaster Co that is suburban.

15. "big out-of-state corporations bullying North Carolinians"

Where would that state be without those big out-of-state corporations? I mean, wasn't all of RTP built around IBM back in the '70s?

"We believe no individual should be discriminated against because of gender identity or sexual orientation. Laws that allow such discrimination go against our fundamental belief of equality and are bad for the economies of the states in which they are enacted," said Katie Cody, a spokeswoman for American Airlines, which has its second-largest hub at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.

Wells Fargo, Replacements Ltd., Apple, Microsoft and others all signed on to a statement in opposition to the North Carolina law and similar legislation in other states.

"Equality in the workplace is a business priority to foster talent and innovation, and these state laws undermine this core value," the statement said. "These state laws set a dangerous precedent that stifles investment and economic growth by jeopardizing a state’s status as a welcoming place for employees to live and thrive, undermining the success of a business at large. It is unreasonable for job creators to recruit a diverse workforce from states that encourage businesses to discriminate against our community of employees or consumers."

Supporters of the law responded by saying "big out-of-state corporations bullying North Carolinians" and noting hundreds of business owners statewide have signed a letter thanking lawmakers and McCrory for their actions.

Duke University, Red Hat, Biogen, PayPal, Citrix... #WeAreNotThis

But corporate America could tip the scale, said Michael Bitzer, political science professor at Catawba College in Salisbury, northeast of Charlotte.

"If businesses are starting to look at North Carolina and says this is not the environment we want to be in, that could have some blowback, and McCrory would be in the bull's-eye," Bitzer said.

29. Yes not laughing

NC goes backward--not good for tourism or business. Certainly not good for the state's image.

(That in addition to all the reasons why it's wrong to begin with).

Just part of the Koch hijacking.
