Wall Street Journal: Mr. Cruz took all 40 of Utahs delegates, yet his already steep path to the nomination outside of a contested convention became even rockier. He must win 85% of the outstanding delegatesa task akin to winning a division in Major League Baseball after being 25 games out of first place on Labor Daywhen there are only about 30 games left in the season.

(284 posts)Instead of "Cruz needs 85% of delegates to gain the nomination" the GOP is obsessed with, "Ok, Trump needs 498 of the remaining 944. Stop him from getting to 1237. Then we get to pick who we want." I've been reading that the Cruz campaign has been targeting delegates in an attempt to sway their vote after the first ballot at the convention. Most of them have to vote for Trump if he won the state but after that first ballot most of them can choose whomever they wish. That is the Cruz plan.
I really hope Trump steamrolls over the GOP and secures the nomination. I dislike the blatant scheming and plotting. The Republican party deserves all the destruction that will come.
