RALEIGH, NCIn what many political observers are calling a new low in an election season that has already seen its share of negative campaigning, a scathing antiTed Cruz attack ad airing this week reportedly shows nothing more than a still photograph of the Texas senators face for 30 seconds, unaccompanied by any text, voiceover, or music.
The pointed TV spotwhich continues on in complete silence and does not pan across or zoom in on the candidates face, but merely holds steady on the image for half a minute before fading to blackis said to be running in several states with upcoming primaries and is paid for by a super PAC opposed to Cruzs presidential bid.
This is an extremely vicious jab at Ted Cruz, and one that succeeds in painting the candidate in a most unfavorable light, said Douglas Reisenthaler, a senior analyst with Public Policy Polling, who described the ad as by far the most unrelenting and hostile attack to air since the 2016 election cycle began. Inevitably, some voters will be turned off by the maliciousness of showing an unretouched headshot of Ted Cruz on television screens across America, but it has nonetheless proved very effective in turning public opinion against his candidacy.
He added, Everywhere this ad has aired, Cruzs numbers have gone into complete free-fall.

Cruz is hated by his own party just as much as the Dems hate him. In a brokered convention his name will be eliminated before they even announce the second roll call.

(1,383 posts)I have backed off of my tirades about the orange fella. I still see an occasional Cruz post on my news feed. I have broken 7 screens.

(2,603 posts)we'll see a massive air time increase for Kasich in the next 2 months.
Their hope is a brokered convention, Kasich is an easy pick and a VERY dangerous one for us regardless of the Democratic nominee.

(1,383 posts)I can't see the lollipop guild staying a way from the polls this time. VERY dangerous indeed. And with these racist, ageist and ableist voter ID laws.....damn.
If the orange fella gets the delegates, then what becomes of the gop? Tea Party, Dominionists break off and form a new party?
We are living in interesting times. I used ableist in a sentence. Cheers.

(5,108 posts)A voiceover saying simply: "I'm Ted Cruz and I'm running for president." His voice is the real killer---and maybe even much too negative an attack.
