Trump: win or lose, things will be very different in a bad way...

Image the horrible situation we may find ourselves in November with a Trump win.

What that sets up is the ability of the ultra right wing racists to basically have free reign upon our society. Trumps win will embolden a certain fearful stupid portion of our electorate to voice and enforce their brand of hate, bigotry and racism upon our society.

if you think it bad now, just wait when these dullards of Trump are given the power, if you will, to exploit theirs and the fringe members of society (aka storm front, hate groups, and every nut job conspiracy fool) concept of "reality".

Society in America will be set to retrograde.

We, of the thinking portion of society, understand this, but what I'm truly fearful of is this: a Trump loss.

We know what will happen if he wins, but given the current landscape, especially at the various Trump bund rally's, do you honestly believe that if Trump loses his followers will go quietly into the night?

His followers are the largest group of misinformed racist and bigots that constantly vote against their own best interests.

They live in fear of everything. And it seems as if the right wing media stokes their fire by coming up with a fear du jour to keep their news cycle going. Be damned their effect their hateful news has upon the ignorant masses.

For the very first time in my life, I honestly believe there will be violence due to the constant egging on by the right wing.

It's been coming for a very long time. Anyone paying even the very least amount of attention sees it coming.

george w. bush's* appointing to the presidency and his obvious slide to the religious right, the invasion of a nation that had nothing at all to do with 9/11 but was pushed with lies, the rise of the tea party, the fear based rhetoric, the power of the NRA, the taping into fear with a 23 hour news cycle, the two Bundy stand offs, the pushing of the fear of anything not white, proclamations to build a wall, the want to deport whole sections of the american population due to the color of their skin or because of their religion.

Building, building, building...

These are the obvious messages (as well as others) pushed by the right wing to their base over the last 16 years. (longer if you include the general propaganda the right wing has been foisting upon the U.S. population for the past 35 years).

I sometimes find it amusing when right wing talking heads are perplexed at the rise of Trumps popularity. They are either that stupid or willfully ignorant (I choose the latter) of the atmosphere the republican party has created to allow such bigotry and racism to prevail.

With that in mind, with everything we have witnessed so far, do you honestly believe that a Trump loss will make this mouth frothing, pound of flesh demanding, blood lusting followers to just pack up and go home? "Oh, well, maybe next time we'll win. Golly, I have a roast to get home to to cook".

Hell no.

All I have to say is this, brace for impact, it's not going to be pretty.

it's the followers that have been embolden.

it rises and falls,
those of you who know history will think of Father Coughlin, McCarthy, Japanese in internment camps - surely one of the basest times of the US.

But the fascist, right, whatever you choose to call it, never goes away. Sometimes for a period of time it becomes "uncouth" to used the n'word, or to call women, dames.

and then there are times like now - when as you say, Java man, the fascists are emboldened, led on by leader who says, 'send them out on a stretcher'

so we need 3 things for a fascist uprising:
one - a leader, two - a mob, and three:
for the middle to do nothing.

what do you think will happen?

I am proud of the youth for ex at U Chicago Illinois, who drove trump out, but -
left alone - with no support from the middle --
they cannot do it -
they will be marginalized.

but alas, the middle is vanishing rapidly due to the increased wealth by the rich and the have even less by the rest of us.

in those situations, the marginalized became "factionalized".

And right now the largest "faction" that are receiving the most press is the trump fools.

and as the old saying goes, "if it bleeds, it leads" in newspaper jargon.

given the violence at the trump rally's, they will always lead.

However, they protesters who drove trump to cancel his rally, got on the news, because it ended in violence by the cops pepper spraying people. if there were no spraying and it was completely peaceful, no one would have heard a word about it.

we know this full well because of past televised massive protests.

I do home more people protest against trump, but it would be nice if the cops didn't feel the need to act all authoritarian and exert control over what would have been an otherwise peaceful demonstration. Sadly, the right wing supporters of trump will make damn sure there will be no peace.

Trump will fall to the republicon machine. He can't get by the convention without a clear majority (50+%) of delegates which he will not achieve. If Trump then runs 3rd party, he bisects the party. Finally, Trump supporters are a distinct minority (~11%) of the electorate.

and just because trump loses doesn't mean they go away, I think they will be further embolden via some bullshit conspiracy theory they cook up as an excuse as to why trump lost.

they aren't going away.

It's all about regaining their "rightful" place in the pecking order of America.

The Trump voters see the majority of the youth in this country abandoning all sacred institutions they held dear: Their racism, their churches, their "might makes right" way of dealing with other countries, their economics, their identifying as straight by default, their workplaces and their culture.

It is a last gasp they didn't get with McCain and Romney.

The worst part about it is, Trump isn't even the most dangerous fucker in this race. Theocrat Ted is.

ted isn't "likable".

trump for all his racism and bigotry, is glib.

and to the mouth-breathing masses, glib equals funny or "insightful".

ted isn't glib, he just comes off as a jerk to everyone involved.

I believe they are both of the same fabric, just different patterns.

offers us some thoughts on trump supporters
http://www.thenation.com/article/why-the-trump-rally-in-st-louis-was-so-different/

the author is a white progressive in St Louis and points to the great changes that happened in St Louis and can be projected to the country imo-
over the last 100 years a compliant largely subservient population of people of color, has said,
'we are not taking this anymore'
racist white people have had their world change radically and they don't know what is going on.
all they know is - they ain't in control anymore, and they don't like it.

i'm not making excuses for them, they are scum and drivel.
but we need to understand - it's not trump.
he came along and unfortunately for us sane people, he is PERFECT for the role.

but if it wasn't him, it would be someone else.

First they were a global pariah. Then their racist leadership was cast from office. We are entering a time analogous to the pain they endured as they went from a white dominated society to the far more egalitarian one they have now.

If Trump wins we have a pretty good idea where we are heading. If Hillary or Bernie wins make no mistake about it. The republicans will stoke the right wing fervor like nothing we have seen so far and there will be violence in the streets. If that party has displayed anything over the last 40 years is a total disregard for the well-being of this nation and its people when their power is threatened. Couple that with the real financial losses that the 1% can expect if a fraction of Bernie's policies move forward. They will not lay down.
I have no idea what would happen if Cruz won but it won't be good.

into the streets before November. Spill much further than the streets around the arena. Spread to all streets in the US. He is pretty much saying if someone doesn't agree with him, that person should be physically harmed. I have Bernie stickers but am afraid to put them on my van. The only yard signs I have seen are for Trump or Cruz.
