Supreme Court, Trump engulf Capitol Hill

The high court battle is all anyone's talking about other than Trump, which isn't a good place for Republicans.

With the possible exception of Donald Trump, the Supreme Court vacancy is the biggest obsession of Capitol Hill these days.

That’s a bad thing for Senate Republicans.

The GOP’s refusal to hold hearings or vote on President Barack Obama’s nominee to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia has put the party on the defensive in a way that’s unlikely to change anytime soon, assuming top Republicans hold their ground. Democrats are more energized than at any time since they were swept out of power in 2014, hammering Republicans daily with the mantra “Do Your Job!”

I think Obama will come up with a nominee and Bernie will mobilize his 'political revolution,' otherwise known as us, to compel the Senate to do its job. This will allow the huge group Bernie has mobilized to flex its political muscle and that momentum will result in more and more big primary wins for Sanders, followed by the nomination. This will help Sanders and his supporters no end because it will awaken the American people to become engaged in the farce that is now our national politics.

But they will not do it soon enough to defuse the issue because they are so upset, and that is good for us, in the sense that we might get a better judge and win the Congress.
