(63,172 posts)Ghostbusters 2 was one of the worst films I've ever paid to see in the theater, even with the beloved cast and production team. I therefore expected this one to suck even worse.
However, upon viewing the trailer, I'm more optimistic. I like that they didn't try to field a "girl Billy Murray," for instance, and the cast overall is quite strong.
I can't imagine that it will come anywhere near the original, but already it looks better than the sequel (which this one wisely seems to be ignoring, as a matter of fact).

(15,205 posts)with this one..seems kind of cheesy, nothing in that trailer makes me enthusiastic enough to plan ahead just so I could get a good seat ( when I say good seat, I aim for an aisle roughly halfway up in the house, which is popular ). Who knows..I'll probably end up going to see it because a friend of mine in a huge Ghostbusters fan and I'll go with her. Other than that, I just miss the old cast.
Edited to add: Yeah, I know Harold Ramis is gone, RIP..and Bill Murray ain't what he used to be, and Dan Ackroyd...well, he's not doing too much anymore. It's not the same.
Is this being billed as a remake, btw? I don't even know.

A. Why are there 417 film versions of Jane Eyre and 508 of Hamlet?
B. Doesn't appear so.
