Come vote for your favorite photos! There are two threads to vote in so make sure you check out both and please help keep these polls kicked.
Poll Thread #1: http://www.democraticunderground.com/10027635734
The theme this month was Back to the Future: Stuff that used to be considered the cutting edge of technology - things, places, etc which at one time were the awesome newest tech on earth and now are abandoned to the past.
This is the preliminary vote on all entries then there will be a final vote based on the results of these two polls.
Note: This contest is posted in GD with permission from Skinner.
An entrant to this contest, by submitting a photograph, is giving permission for that photograph to be copied to Demopedia or to a linked Gallery and included in a DU Calendar that will display the photographs entered for this contest for the purpose of publicizing future contests and/or commemorating current and past contests. The entrant retains all other rights to the photograph being submitted. Neither Demopedia and/or a linked Gallery may use any photograph submitted for any purpose other than to display the photograph being submitted by the entrant, and neither gains any real or implied ownership rights to the photograph.

(39,961 posts)I loved both #4 and #6.
These dang things get more difficult as the DU photographers get better.
It's getting to be like picking between the moon and the sun.

(8,554 posts)but the desolation of the one with the sewing machine had to be my final pick...I hear that room.
We had (and used) an old treadle Singer when I was a kid, the poor thing is still sitting out in the summer kitchen on my folks' property, dead quiet now, just like them.
I also loved the remains of that old powerhouse, #6. It was my first choice before I scrolled on down, ha! The coloring of it is what I think is most striking, the moss...besides I'm pretty sure I've been down there to it, if it's the one I think it is, in Oregon. I've always been a nut for viewing old hydro-electric ruins, the rusted generators, the giant transformers, the quiet turbines.
Every one of these are winners, in my book. Impossible choice!

(12,132 posts)I picked you. The one I pick never wins. Sorry about that. It's a neat picture though.

(39,961 posts)#4 I chose because it was so neat, but #6 is also compelling.
It seems bad to pick between them because they were both so awesome!
