Okay I will call it.

David Fry is a total whack job. That is the way he will be remembered if he chooses suicide by cop.

The people that he is talking to talk about how many people are listening to him. What they aren't saying is that probably most people think that he is totally nuts and won't be surprised or sympathetic if he gets himself killed.

agree. It was clear in the early days that he was seen as a hanger-on who wasn't there to do the real work and was someone who was merely tolerated. I mean, he was wrapped in a blanket and given a hand-me-down shotgun. With his crying about "just wanting marijuana" there at the end, I think he was probably using it to self-medicate in his anonymous life back in Ohio, and then he got involved in something beyond his capabilities. I do hope he gets the help he clearly needs. The others? Willfully criminal. This guy? A lost soul who thought he had found something that finally accepted him.
