Ted Cruz, your 15 minutes are up

Wake up, Ted. A bunch of "Jeezus freaks" in Iowa can't really get you to the White House. (Apologies to true Christians for that slur.)

New Hampshire voters won't buy your "Jesus wants me to be president" crap.

So enjoy this week, Ted. You've had your first victory and it will be your last.

Many people are well aware that you are hated by just about everyone with whom you've ever come into contact. And for those who weren't aware of it, watching you on TV for a few minutes makes it incredibly obvious that you are someone to be avoided. Nay, someone to run away from like a disease.

There are millions of Americans who fear that the insane Republican Party might end up with you as the nominee. They don't need to worry. You are yesterday's news.

I can't describe how happy I will be to watch the people of New Hampshire press the flush handle.

2. Ted Cruz sent a mailer to my house today, on the envelope it proclaimed there was a CHECK inside

I opened the mailer, and there was a facsimile of a check made out to the Ted Cruz campaign asking for my support in his crusade.

Mind you, I am registered as a D, have voted D for 40 years, am NOT a christian (much less an evangelical). I like to think his campaign wasted a lot of money compiling lists of others like me to mail campaign pitches to. A fool and his money.....

I honestly wonder how many Iowa voters picked him just to show they have a sense of humor,
or perhaps to show they don't like the GOP slate by voting for the most unlikely candidate.

10. I really believe that those who were for Cruz

were picking "God's chosen candidate." After all, that's how he was selling himself in Iowa.

There's no accounting for fanaticism and/or ignorance. My guess is that a lot of Iowans are embarrassed by this outcome. And that they are ashamed of living amidst so many clueless fools.

11. Ted Cruz seems to be a slickster, he cheated and won the Iowa caucus

Watchout for this man. Ted Cruz is a crooked and self absorbed individual.

12. I think this is short-sighted. Better Cruz than Rubio.

I'd rather face Trump than Cruz in a general election.

But if Cruz loses it seems more likely that it will be to Rubio than to Trump.

And that is absolutely no cause to celebrate.

13. Forty five percent of Republicans would

vote for Hitler if he had an (R) next to his name. This is part of the established math of our current day elections.

Cruz has alienated so many people in the GOP that his support from them in a general election would be tepid at best. Most would be rooting for him to lose.

Trump, on the other hand, is a great snake oil salesman.

Cruz is dangerous.

Be careful what you wish for. The Republicans are masters at stealing elections.

don't write the Bircher off just yet.

And Rubio is barely better. Just better looking.

The Birchers will never go away. They will always be here whether they're wearing hoods, or calling themselves "patriots," or screaming "Jeeezuz" at the top of their lungs.

Somehow, in recent years, virtually the entire Republican Party has morphed into The John Birch Society.

Go figure.
