Perhaps some is used for charity but I believe charity is a separate thing.

(which pays the bills including salaries) and for whatever other projects, sometimes charitable or sometimes building funds that they desire. Hypocrites like Cruz don't feel obligated to cough up their cash like the peons since they consider their time to be move valuable. The ad appropriately tags Cruz as a less than charitable person.

don't you hate phonies.

That's why I'm so proud of the time GW Bush spent "clearing brush" at his ranch during his presidency (more time away from DC than any President ever). We knew he was getting his land ready for his "golden" years.

What? He doesn't live there now?

He's in a "gated" community?

But, but, where's the brush to clear?

How can a good ole' boy like that NOT be out there on a ranch riding over the acres?

Bought the place when he was running for preznit in 1999. Clearing brush was the man-liest thing he could manage: certainly couldn't handle a horse!

He would have had some, because in Texas you get such huge tax breaks for "agricultural" land that owners of McMansions in the suburbs sometimes will keep a cow or two in their yards.

I just remember it being so obvious that he bought the place to be a prop. He was so ridiculously phony it blew my mind that anyone took him seriously as a presidential candidate. But they did. They did. What a catastrophe.

17. Huckabee Backers Slams Ted Cruz As A “Phony” Christian In New Iowa TV Ad

A group backing Huckabee will spend $1.1 million in a last-ditch attempt to shake up the Republican field in Iowa.

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Supporters of Mike Huckabee are launching a TV attack ad here in the final days of the race that casts Ted Cruz as a charlatan feigning intense Christian devotion to win votes.

The ad, which is being aired by the pro-Huckabee super PAC Pursuing America’s Greatness and was previewed for BuzzFeed News, depicts two women chatting prior to a group Bible study about the upcoming Iowa caucuses. The women are shown discussing recent leaked comments in which Cruz privately told donors he wouldn’t prioritize fighting same-sex marriage if he was elected; they also talk about Cruz’s reportedly meager record of charitable giving.

The super PAC says it is spending just over $400,000 to get the ad on TV in the final six days of the race. Paired with another commercial that attacks both Cruz and Trump as unserious, the group will spend over $1.1 million in a last-ditch effort to shake up the field in hopes that Huckabee — currently polling at around 2% in the state — will benefit.

The commercial is a TV adaptation of a radio ad that was launched last week by a new anti-Cruz group, as first reported by Politico. (Both ads were produced by Ohio-based Republican strategist Nick Everhart.)

Some of it might inadvertently benefit a poor person somewhere and we can't have that.

Whatta maroon.
