Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette announced two new leaders of the investigation into the ongoing Flint water crisis.
Schuette named "tough" former Wayne County prosecutor Todd Flood as the special counsel of the investigation and "no nonsense" retired Detroit FBI chief Andrew Arena as another member of the team.
Schuette's office is investigating whether any state laws were violated in the delivery of contaminated water to Flint, Michigan, residents. Extremely high levels of lead have been found in the city's water supply, forcing residents to drink, bathe and cook with bottled water.
"The tragedy of Flint is a tragedy of immense proportions," Schuette said this morning. "This investigation will be thorough, exhaustive and independent."

A Republican is promising to be ethical. The reaction I'm seeing on the TV news is skeptical.

(32,673 posts)don't forget Bill Schuette is planning a run for Governor. Might explain his aggressive stance. I would almost think he would have to throw Snyder in the joint to get elected now.

(1,898 posts)We did nothing wrong. It's all the fault of all those people in Flint for consuming contaminated water.

Guy will not sink anybody over this, except maybe Andy Dillon, the State Treasurer who Snyder said "signed off" on the Flint water switch. Andy was a Democrat until he lost the nomination to run for governor in 2010, but accepted an invitation to join Rick Snyder's cabinet.
