Ted Cruz’s Failure to Disclose Wall Street Loan is a Real Legal Problem

http://www.mediaite.com/online/ted-cruzs-failure-to-disclose-wall-street-loan-is-a-real-legal-problem/

The recent revelation that Republican hopeful Ted Cruz failed to disclose a 2012 $1 million loan from the Wall Street investment bank, Goldman Sachs, raises legitimate legal concerns, and could spell trouble for the presidential hopeful.

The New York Times first reported that campaign disclosure reports show that before a scheduled run-off in the May 2012 senatorial election, Cruz received a low-interest loan from his wife’s bank, which his campaign committee never reported to the Federal Election Commission.

The Cruz camp is brushing this all off as a BIG oversight. Cruz promised to immediately amend the filing if there were any problems. The Texas Senator said that he and his wife put their liquid net worth into the campaign and the loans in question were “disclosed over and over and over again.”

That’s great but here’s the problem: what he did could still be a violation of federal law.

Could we deport him to Canada?

The Canadians don't want him. We don't want him. The Cubans don't want him. Mexico has already threatened the most ultimate retaliation - increasing their Cuervo export quotas - if we send him there. And Somalia's already said, "he's your fucking problem. You deal with him."

nothing would see me happier than this psycho removed from contention for President. Of all the crazies running for the GOP nomination I think Cruz is the most dangerous.

But considering the sorry state of campaign regulations, isn't it weird how so many Republicans (like Cruz) and other conservatives (like D'Souza) still can't figure out how to skirt such a threadbare system?

What's most interesting to me is that when Cruz was running in 2012, he was busy bad-mouthing the economy to the voters, but he and his wife took out a loan that was very dependent on the continued good performance of the economy and the stock market. He was telling his supporters one thing, while gambling his personal, professional, and political life on exactly the opposite.

I wonder if Cruz's supporters ever consider this contradiction? He put his money where his mouth wasn't.
