In both Spanish and English tweets, Castillo wrote: “Thank you for your support over the past few days. Not surprisingly, many have chosen to make up items they think will make good stories and that aren’t truthful. I look forward to sharing my story with you.”

So gross. I don’t know why you would want to associate with people like that. 1) You’re a famous, good looking woman. What if he wants to have sex with you or make you his mistress forever? You can’t say no, how do you say no. What if he made her sleep with him? You can’t say no. And for him it’d be the best “conquest” ever because she’s famous. 2) These men are scary as hell. Cross them and you and your family are dead. 3) What about your popularity? You’re an actress, he’s the most wanted man in the world. She’s done in Mexico. She probably wanted to do business with him though. She had to want something out of this. Makes no sense to me WHY would anyone want to be friends with a drug lord. These people are probably a big inspiration to ISIS. They filmed decapitations and executions, and posted them online first. They started that trend of posting threatning videos online, killing hostages and enemies. All the shit you only see in Batman movies, they do in real life: blowing up buildings and day care centers and retirement homes, hanging the bodies of cops and other officials from bridges as a warning. They don’t just kill. They torture sadistically and leave the bodies there in public. They burn entire towns down. Shit that you don’t even see in the news because people would panic. Nobody knows just how out of control Mexico was in 2007-2010.
I imagine the attraction for her was the same as it was for Sean Penn. [FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: yellow"]People who are[/FONT] quite [FONT style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: yellow"]wealthy and insulated crave something ‘real’ and ‘authentic[/FONT]’, and for them stories are more important/better currency than anything else. They are like the tourists you meet who hate tourists and are always seeking out the real, authentic goings-on. It’s boredom, and if you aren’t an interesting person you may as well try and stock up on as many anecdotes as you can.

Yeah, I don’t get the people who are like “rooting for the underdog” with him. He’s just a loveable scamp who kidnaps and murders people!
