(1,644 posts)Of course, they would never vote for him, since they disagree politically. That's the way it is supposed to be. But, they admire him because he says what he believes and stands by it. They can respect that, even if they do not agree with him. Hatred and animosity are unnecessary.
I even know a few that have registered as a Democrat in order to vote for him in the primary. Of course, according to Camp Weathervane this is just a sign that Sanders equals Trump. It's interesting that they say that while from the other fork in their tongue they praise their candidate's ability to work with the GOP, her sworn Enemy #1. Curious.

(53,997 posts)than it says about the Republican Party, which will, of course, go over the line and attack Sanders personally on all sorts of irrelevant and mostly untrue bullshit if he's nominated. Seriously, I can't wait to see what they come up with for the "Sanders Murder List"

(1,644 posts)I deal directly with the public daily on an individual basis. So, I see all kinds. But, you make it sound as if our candidates won't do the same sort of thing when the time comes. Right now, the fight is within each party as they compete for the nomination. Once the conventions are over and then nominees chosen, it is going to get even nastier. Every election year, pollsters say that people tell them, "We don't like partisanship. We want all the candidates to get along." That's bullshit. To most of the American people, politics is a bloodsport. We'd like to see fistfights if we could. That's why the nastiness works in elections.
If I was Hillary Clinton, I'd be pretty pissed right now.
