I'd be willing to bet that what she meant was that we can outlaw murder, but that's not going to prevent outlaws from committing murder. We have and it doesn't.

Nothing President Obama is proposing would ban a person from owning a firearm. It would try to close the gaps in the current system to try a keep firearms out of the hands of people who should not be able to buy them.

It is absolutely astounding the amount of push back this getting. Polling shows UBG checks with a very high approval % yet somehow in the eyes some people that is a bad thing.

I wonder why the NRA did not participate in this. Apparently they are very against anymore gun control but could not show up to a televised town hall debate to state their reason for their position.
