I like getting the Big Gulp for $1.29.

And I like taking it home and splitting it up between the four of us. Limiting the number of ounces means I'll probably have to spend more money for the treat or give it up. That means I probably won't get anything else at the convenience store.

In the late sixties, they placed the store well, strategically.

Now they sell mostly tobacco and alcohol, different drugs from sugar and caffeine.

Good times.

brother and little sister loved them. You can't get them here in Tn where I live. I would love to let my grandkids try them. We are going home for a visit next year. Unless big brother get's in the way.

4. I'm a big drinker. Be it water, slurpee, soda, or a beer

I'm a big dude and I like big drinks. I refill my klean kanteen several times a day and will usually drink 28oz of water at least with every meal. I like the Big Gulps. I can pick one up and have it last me a while. To limit choices and availability is silly.

14. so instead of walking out with 1 large cup, I'd need two or three smaller ones?

Yes, lets create a shit ton more waste for the landfills, plus look down right silly carrying several 12oz cups in lieu of a 32 ouncer

Or you can just let the stores continue to sell Big Gulps. No one is forcing anyone to buy them...free market and all that stuff

my drink. I like diet pepsi but I have been trying to cut down on them. Maybe ice tea, orange juice now and then. In the morning one cup of coffee.

That being said, if a 35 year old person wants to drink nothing but soda, who is anyone else to say he can't do that?! This is America. Not Stalin's Russia!

Just be happy that they might not move on to limiting the number of candy bars or chocolate you are allowed to buy in one day.

I fill the cup nearly to the brim with finely crushed ice and then soda. I drink the soda quick so it doesn't melt the ice and then I chomp on the ice for most of the evening. There has been an occasion or two that I couldn’t use fountain soda and I have found that their cup only holds about 12 ounces of soda. If I lived in NYC, I would tell Bloomberg to keep his hands off my soda/ice addiction.

By the way, I only drink diet or club soda so I wouldn’t be affected directly but I would be affected if convenience stores and fast food restaurants decided to use smaller cups. The ice would not last most of the evening if served in a small cup

I'm not advocating for the ban on the size of soda but we need more education about making the choice to buy any soda at all. I just wish I had known more about the health consequences of it before I got hooked on Pepsi many years ago.
