Obama Continues to Stubbornly Link Gun Violence with Guns

WASHINGTON—Republican Presidential candidates ripped President Obama on Tuesday for what they called his stubborn insistence on linking gun violence with guns.

In campaign stops across Iowa and New Hampshire, the G.O.P. hopefuls pounded the President for irrationally concluding that guns have played a role in the nation’s epidemic of mass shootings.

“How any reasonable person could look at gun violence and say that guns are involved is beyond me,” said Texas Senator Ted Cruz. “And yet, somehow, President Obama always finds a way.”

“I would very much like to have a conversation about gun violence, as President Obama has said he wants to have,” said Florida Senator Marco Rubio. “But as long as he keeps falling back on this tired, unproven connection between gun violence and guns, there’s just no point.”

The former Hewlett-Packard C.E.O. Carly Fiorina said that Obama’s persistent linking of gun violence with guns was “sad but not surprising, from a man who believes that people’s health can be improved by access to health care.”

“He isn’t thinking straight,” she said.

Of all the candidates, though, the retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson was perhaps the most scathing in his assessment of the President’s remarks. “Even if every gun in the world suddenly disappeared, there would still be gun violence,” he said.

This might be a cutesy article to some but it leaves out the meatiest part.....

Military, police, FBI, CIA, etc etc all government endorsed gun worshipers are heartily ignored in all of this debating..the innocent lives hurt and or destroyed ceremoniously glossed over...and so the violence will continue against innocent lives unless the world bans all weapons of destruction for everyone.

Humans are hard wired to destroy each other I assume to help keep the populations somewhat manageable...I cannot think of any other reason that this huge failing of humanity continues generation after generation....

We're humans... we're wired mostly for gratification.

Folks who sell guns pay people who make laws. One has money the other has power. Power and money are gratifying and the urge to gratify ourselves is a base need.

We're base creatures. Also, the world agreeing to anything other than breathing and eating is a dream. It is a great dream but if by magic tomorrow you could snap your fingers and make all guns, projectile throwing weapons, range weapons disappear....the knife lobby would pay to allow machetes to be worn in public and the people who can't feel secure without a weapon would applaud.

It just gets harder and harder to tell.
Honestly, I sort of expect these kind of statements from that group of losers
