Graham says watchdog agency ‘something out of the Stalinist era’

Graham says watchdog agency ‘something out of the Stalinist era’

“This consumer bureau that they want to pass is under the Federal Reserve; no appropriation oversight; no board. It is something out of the Stalinist era,” Graham said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “The reason Republicans don’t want to vote for it is we want a board, not one person making all of the regulatory decisions. And there’s no oversight of this person. He gets a check from the Federal Reserve; we want him under the Congress so we can oversee the overseer.”

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.
Abraham Lincoln
16th president of US (1809 - 1865)

Stalin killed somewhere between 2 and 10 million people in the Ukraine in the 1930s with his policies

and yet Graham talks about a pro consumer agency being Stalinist.

They'll do anything to distract people from what the bureau does and why it is needed. The sad thing is, that approach works all too often.

I remember reading about Stalin's acts against the Ukrainian people years ago and for
Graham to compare a consumer protection agency to what Stalin did shows a real lack
of knowledge and or tact.

I look forward to the media pointing out Graham's ham handed speech.

to include "Stalinist", "Socialist", "Communist", etc.

All these are are buzzwords IMHO basically designed to destroy/prevent legitimate debate and the people using them often have no idea what the words actually mean other that they are something "bad", "awful" and/or most certainly "un-American".
