If the nuts in Oregon want to actually return the land to the people, there's a map for that.

1. In fact, there's a tiny Paiute community just north of Burns.

I suspect the Burns-Paute Colony would be more than happy to have some of that land back...

4. For a short time, the Malheur lake area was a Paiute reservation

1872-1879, I think, 1.8 million acres. Then it was taken and opened up for settlement, and the Paiutes were given nothing. They kept together in the Burns area and bought a 700 acre or so tract in 1935, which forms the reservation now that they are re-recognized. One of the sadder stories in a long list of sad stories.

2. Very first thought I had when I heard the insurrectionist terrorist mention returning the land

White people murdered NA to steal the land, now their descendants want to murder again for the land.

31. Every year in this small town on the Southern Oregon Coast

we come together to mourn the forced relocation in 1856 of ALL the Native Americans from the Southern Oregon Coast, some by ship, but most were forced marched a couple of hundred miles north and many children and elders didn't survive the ordeal.

We still shed many tears remembering this sad event.

"But, but...er...but the original Constitooshun doesn't count INJUNS as people! So there! Black people neither, cept as 3/5ths of a person, and yer allowed to own em. The original Constitooshun just counts white men as people. That's why we're so fanaticalz about it!"

12. The BLM through the BIA oversees much Native American

land even today. I wonder if most of that land still belongs to these tribes and is called federal land for that reason.

Thank you for the map.

18. Please....

quit calling these people nuts from Oregon. These people are not Oregonians. They are out-of-state agitators. Oregonians want nothing to do with them. They should get the hell out of our state!

perhaps just create an excuse to shoot their guns. I guess they are nuts IN Oregon.

20. If you ask them they'll claim they WON that land in the Indian Wars....

Never mind that was the Federal Government's ARMY still wearing the dark blue uniforms of the North from the Civil War.

22. Yau, well, I have a real problem with the concept of having WON it. We bought Alaska, and

that made sense. Using war to get land is a crime in my "book".

24. Right Wingers believe people have to die in order for there to be freedom....

I believe it goes back to their twisted version of the Jesus story were he died for mankind's sins. Forget everything he ever said, his bloody death is all that matters. That's what made us all free. Mind you, all of those slaughtered Indians didn't earn their freedom because they were savages who weren't members of the same blood cult.

25. Uh oh! I live right in the middle of Kalapuya territory.

This could get interesting...very interesting. Meanwhile, Bundy and his Band of Idiots can go back where they came from while the gettin's good and they have their scalps intact. The ghost of Captain Jack and his Modoc warriors live on! Well, so it's said.

Meanwhile again, my 3rd-generation Oregonian spouse is lock-and-loading his AK 57 ready to ride when the National Guard is called up. Bundy really oughta turn tail and run!

There has been talk of it for some time.
