Please stop comparing Bernie to FDR

This discussion thread was locked as off-topic by Sissyk (a host of the General Discussion forum).

get real. FDR was governor of New York. He came from the upper class and went to the most prominent schools. He was an incredible speaker and was incredibly inspiring. Bernie is nice but come on.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions and to make whatever comparisons they choose to. Just why is it important to squelch these trains of thought?

I am concerned with a candidate's positions and for whom he or she will fight.

I mean, we COULD also say that Bernie is not in a wheelchair, and does not have an expansive property on the Hudson River, but that is no more relevant than what 'class' he comes from, BECAUSE of his positions..

Bernie DOES get it. And interestingly enough, despite his quite different social background, so did FDR... AND is stunning wife.
BTW, my mother, who came from a rather poor family in NW Arkansas, (she was even adopted) knew Eleanor Roosevelt, but that is another story.

8. FDR interned over 120,000 Japanese during WWII. 60% were US citizens.

And, they lost EVERYTHING they owned.

Go to the camp at Manzanar in the middle of the winter and imagine what it would have been like to live there in bunkhouses.

Then, go take a fucking flying leap.

there was an interment camp out in what is the industrial park south of Pryor ok. West of sportsman acres. I'm sure you're familiar with that area. One of the guard towers still stands today
