1. Stephen King's a

good man.

I like his politics a lot.

He's done pretty well in the book business too.

3. Once, he claims, at a party

a man came up to him and congratulated him on his body of work. I always wanted to write novels, said the man, but just have not had time.
Oh, asked Mr. Stephen King, and what do you do?
I'm a brain surgeon, was the answer.
"Imagine that co-incidence, said Stephen King to him, I always had a hankering to try brain surgery."

Gives me great pleasure to imagine what King's opinion of Ben Carson might be.

37. I suspect that was meant as a barb.

Many people think they can write a great novel, if they just had the time. It's an insult to someone like King, who is a master at his art, (or really any author) for other people to suggest if they'd had a spare couple of months, they could've done something similar.

That was such a funny response! Yeah, if I only had time in between novels I'd be doing brain surgery!

10. Stephen King can truly not write a horror story, as brilliant as he is, that is worse than Trump.

In this case, life is scarier than fiction.

11. I love how he always brings up racism and bigotry in his Novels.

Of course his protagonists are on the right side, and they take offense at the nasties that other characters in the book reveal.

I think King is a nice and kind man. I don't think he lives flamboyantly with his money either. He's more interested in family and writing than in fame and wealth. I mean, I'm sure he is happy to be well off, but he is well grounded. At least that is the impression I get of him.

It's funny, he wrote Misery, where the author has shattered legs, and his keeper, Annie even adds to his pain and fear by adding more injury, and this guy has to deal with all this pain and fear and frustration. Then in real life, King was walking on the side of the road and a van hit him and shattered his legs. I know it took a long time to heal and rehab from that, but it makes me wonder if he was weirded out about the connection of his writing about it and then it happens to him (without the hostage taking).

He is an interesting man. Not the best writer I've read, but I like a number of his books, and even have a few in my permanent collection. And I few I'd like to add. They are easy reads, and fun and I learn a lot about him through the personal little notes he throws in there. He loves to talk to his readers.

I could be mistaken.

15. I thought I looked it up

His accident happened June 19, 1999 (that should freak him out right there). He wrote Misery in 1987. According to wiki on both those accounts.

Looking at his wiki page, he's written a lot of books I've never read and it seems like I've read a zillion of his books. He is/was a very prolific writer.

until the similarity in style let it be discovered. Now he owns up to them.

20. go king!

Ok...I can now forgive King for the ending to the Dark Tower series. Not the killing Eddie part...but for the whole starting everything over part, I can now move on. The dent that "Ka is a wheel" made in my skull is healed. But seriously....can he rewrite it and make the guy who shot Eddie into Donald Trump....and maybe Trump misses and after Eddie feels the bullet pass his ear he slowly turns as Trump futilely dry fires his empty revolver and says something punny as he off-handedly curb stomps Tru....maybe I should stop here...Trump has eyes everywhere.

MORONS. They just love him all the more for it!

I guess you mean the 'on-the-fencers' but they don't pay attention anyway. How much did they notice and how much does it matter? I remember being younger and almost just as stupid as them. Well, I was never stupid enough to consider voting for a Republican, but I didn't grow up in Republican country, so that might have made the difference.

I guess I'm in a grumpy mood today, and I don't even have a hangvoer.

32. You need to read his short stories.

He's a great short story writer. His horror stories are his money makers but his short stories are really better.

What I like about him is that he has done a lot of drugs and just freely admits it.

He has been married to the same woman for years and years. That always impresses me . And she is also a writer.
