ISIS army of scientists set to wage chemical and biological war on West

ISIS army of scientists set to wage chemical and biological war on West: Experts warn weapons of mass destruction 'have been carried undetected' into European Union

* ISIS already has smuggled chemical and biological weapons into the EU
* The terror organisation has also recruited chemists and physicists
* Western governments warned to alert the public about potential attacks

EXCERPT:

ISIS has recruited experts with chemistry, physics and computer science degrees to wage war with weapons of mass destruction against the West, a shocking European Parliament report has claimed.

The terror organisation, according to the briefing document, 'may be planning to try to use internationally banned weapons of mass destruction in future attacks'.

The document, which was compiled in the aftermath of the deadly attacks on Paris claimed that ISIS has already smuggled WMD material into Europe.

Already, British police forces have been conducting exercises on how to deal with various types of terrorist attack. But the EU report claims that government should 'consider publicly addressing the

"ISIS 6 months from a nuclear weapon!!! Be afraid! Be very afraid!!"

2. This is a report from the European Parliament. It's just information. It's either useful

or not useful, true or false.

Ignoring it won't make it go away.

5. It's the breathless Daily Mail fearmongering that's the problem

The report says "CBRN substances have been carried undetected into the European Union", which appears to be based on this: "Attacks using CBRN substances, such as the case of the Litvinenko radiological poisoning, have shown that CBRN threat substances have been carried undetected in and out of the European Union. "

The Mail changed that into "ISIS already has smuggled chemical and biological weapons into the EU ".

See? It's bullshit. A Russian spy operation has somehow be turned into more than one ISIS operation.

"some with degrees in physics, chemistry, and computer science" has been changed into an "army of scientists set to wage chemical and biological war on West". Computer science degrees are irrelevant, apart from hacking, which is a completely different topic; a physics degree could be relevant to radiological weapons, but really, understanding of medicine would be more relevant, and the chemists are relevant to the manufacture of chemical weapons, but is the existence of people with a chemistry degree really a good reason to panic? There are chemists all over the world, and have been for the century we've have chemical weapons.

12. The EU report says that ISIS have used chemical weapons in Syria and Iraq.

Is that in doubt? Are those reports false?

13. You appear to be running away from your OP, and the Mail's lies

You chose to use the right wing Mail's title and article, and then say "well, it's based on a report by an EU employee". Yes, it's based on it, but the lies in it aren't. You can't excuse the lies by saying "but there's some truth there too". If you wanted to talk about ISIS use of chemical weapons in Iraq and Syria, then you should have linked to a reliable source talking about that.

Terrorists have had this and many more things at their fingertips and the ability to deliver them for a couple of decades now. We cannot live in fear! We carry on and remain aware. That's all we can do. We can also hope our agencies are watching this more than they are watching "Johnny with a joint".

Sure, a chemicist can brew you some poison... If you provide him with a lab and the necessary educts. And providing that the lab-equipment is so good that he won't blow up or poison himself.
Do you know why Meth-labs explode? Because the chemical reaction produces flammable gas as a side-product and Meth-labs don't have proper ventilation.

Physicists are the kind of scientists that take care of the complicated background-stuff that has no practical use. They are a jack-of-all-trades when it comes to theory, but they aren't chemicists or engineers or mechanics. Physicists can tell you how next to anything works, but they don't have the practical education to actually build stuff themselves.

ISIS has maybe recruited 5 or 10 scientists. That's hardly an army. And ISIS would still need to somehow acquire the compounds and equipment they need for creating something dangerous.

I am sure a number of western educated muslims have gone to Isis. Even the very intelligent can get caught up in the cult like atmosphere.

As bad as those were, due to their own incompetence it could have been far worse when that cult decided to use sarin gas in the subways.

This is how it will be with ISIS, and like Aum Shuriko, they are a cult.
A vicious, murderous cult.

Here in the US we have more danger from the far-right cults, in the ranks of Christians.
