Cruz: I Would Carpet Bomb ISIS Into Oblivion

DES MOINES — Ted Cruz said here Saturday that the 2016 presidential race has entered a more serious phase following the shooting massacre in San Bernardino, Calif., and escalated his rhetoric on foreign policy with a vow to kill Islamic State terrorists.

“If I am elected president, we will utterly destroy ISIS," the Texas senator and Republican presidential candidate told reporters. "We won’t weaken them. We won’t degrade them. We will utterly destroy them. We will carpet bomb them into oblivion. We will arm the Kurds. We will do everything necessary so that every militant on the face of the earth will know if you go and join ISIS, if you wage jihad and declare war on America, you are signing your death warrant.”

Asked whether it was time for voters to apply more scrutiny to Donald Trump and Ben Carson, both political outsiders who have shown limited foreign policy expertise on the campaign trail, Cruz said that in the wake of recent attacks in Paris and San Bernardino, voters should more carefully evaluate every candidate's credentials.

"They’re looking at every candidate for president and assessing who’s prepared to be commander in chief, who has the experience, who has the clarity of vision, who has the strength and resolve to keep this country safe," Cruz said.

I think he would definitely be towards the bottom on that score. The smartest ones are the ones doing the most poorly in the polls, interestingly enough.

13. Technically speaking, Jindal and Cruz are the smartest, followed by Carson

The three were geniuses in school. However, common sense seems to be lacking.

With W Bush, his grades were meh so he at least was consistent with his stupidity. McCain also was amongst the worst in his class in grades. Carson shocks me that he had excellent grades and was a top of the line doctor. How could anyone who says such stupid and ridiculous things be great in school and at a very hard job which requires high intelligence?

Cruz at least debates very well and knows how to use the English language, unlike Trump and W. It doesn't surprise me that Alan Dershowitz called him “Off the charts brilliant,” Cruz is just insane.

strategy on ISIS.

The man and woman in this past week's California terrorist attack are said to be "inspired by" or "supporters of" ISIS, though not official members. They did not live in the Middle East.

Is it Senator Cruz's contention that we should have pre-emptively fire-bombed San Bernadino?

One thing that people should be hearing is no Republican has a realistic vision for the Middle East short of complete destruction, invasion, and occupation. I really believe that forever occupation is their end game.

10. "Isis rules an area with a population of at least six million"

So that's who Cruz wants to carpet bomb. Because a couple with Pakistani heritage, who married in Saudi Arabia, and have never been to Syria or Iraq, attacked in San Bernardino.

Basically, he's saying that the propaganda that comes out of ISIS means that area must be destroyed, because it likely radicalised the couple. If he'd said "we must shut down all internet sites that have anything at all to do with ISIS, at once", it might have made sense. Anonymous has a better grasp of this that the presidential candidate.
