Syed Raheel Farook joined the Navy in August 2003 and left the military four years later with accolades, a Navy spokesman told the Daily News Thursday.

He served with distinction while working as an Information System Technician, Third Class.

“He was a computer technician,” the Navy spokesman confirmed

I'm sure a few right wing heads will explode over this revelation.

on Erin Burnett's show (I like her show - she asks great questions and seems to play it straight down the line) when someone was trying to use the asshole's abusive household and upbringing as an excuse. This hero of an American grew up in the same household.

or some other organization does not hire a PR firm to advertise the contributions that Muslims make to this country. I am convinced wide swaths of the country have never gone to school with, worked with, or lived near a Muslim.

Unfortunately his message, unless the MSM picks up on it, will not play in Peoria.

than in places like the Gulf Coast (where I went to High School). Peoria has many Cat engineers, and, where there are engineers, there are Muslims. Also I have to think Bradley University employs more than a few Muslims as well.

Didn't know that. Probably should have since I was once a Coop for Caterpillar (never got a work session in as the company folded the program in 1982 before I had a chance to work for them).

"In a tract where a man could not walk without sinking to his knees and where tule-shod horses could not be used ... the new traction engine was operated without a perceptible impression in the ground. This tract of land has been useless for crop raising for several years becaue no way was found to plow it, but the platform wheel engine has brought the land into use again." - Farm Implement News - Spring 1905

I grew up with unsubstantiated stories of a conventional traction steam engine of the period sinking and disappearing into a bog field overnight. Stated to me for a fact. I only tell it as I got it. I am willing to believe it. I can believe anything. - Mark Twain

The FBI sure didn't do itself any favors when it let reporters rifle through the attacker's stuff 48 hours later.

After seeing the interview with his sister, the family doesn't seem radical at all.

Influences from abroad seem to be the major causes of his radicalization
