Heck maybe it was Cliven Bundy and his two sons.

(81,855 posts)This is the first time I've heard about Islamic terrorists attacking a county health department. Foreign terrorists usually go after bigger targets and fight to the end.
- Multiple shooters. You almost never see that for someone with a grudge or right-wing terrorists.
- What you said is also true of right wing terrorists: a county health department office still seems like a weird target
- The whole coordinated pickup with the SUV. This was planned.
- Forming a group of shooters to shoot civilians doesn't seem like the right wing terrorist MO. A bomb, sure. It just seems similar to a terror cell attack.
- Use of rifles, body armor, masks, etc.
I guess we'll see, but my guess would be an ISIS-inspired terrorist cell. They aren't necessarily foreign - could just be Americans inspired by ISIS.

(12,041 posts)- We just had an attack by right-wing terrorists in my home state last week, multiple gun men shot five people at a Black Lives Matter protest. I am not aware of any attacks in the US that have involved multiple gunmen with ties to ISIS. While such attacks have happened in other parts of the world here in the US right-wing groups are a far bigger threat than ISIS.
- While we do not know the motive for the shooting we do know that there are fringe groups in this country that are vehemently opposed to psychiatric care, a health clinic could be a target for such a group. (I emphasize however that this is pure speculation, we really have no clue as to what the motive is at this time.
-It was almost certainly planned, but being a planned attack does not mean it was planned by ISIS.
-You don't think right-wing groups who obsess over guns seem likely to use those guns they obsess over? I don't even understand why you would believe that the right-wing would be more likely to use bombs. While there certainly have been right-wing bombings, the fact is that guns are extremely popular among right-wing militia groups.
- Rifles, body armor and masks are common among militia groups.
While I would not rule out the possibility of ISIS, I think a right-wing domestic group seems more likely.

I'm not suggesting a rational motive. there is no rational motive.

(10,136 posts)That is probably related to the unknown motive. However, nothing of a actual motive has yet to be suggested.

With 3 of them, I would guess it's not a personal grudge, but an anti-government thing. But we should find out, if they do have at least one in custody.
