The irony: one of the Paris shooters was a regular at gay bars

So, let's see if I get it straight (accidental pun)

• shooter kills people to further the cause of IS while visiting gay bars.
• Meanwhile, IS thinks the right treatment of gay people is to throw them from tall buildings.

Someone isn't doing their maths right..

Partygoer: Abdeslam is said to have frequented gay bars in Brussels' trendy Saint Jacques quarter (file photo of Rue des Bouchers in Brussels)

Mohamed, who was initially detained in Belgium but later released, urged ‘intelligent’ Salah, 26, to hand himself into police, telling the RTBF network: ‘We’d rather see him in jail than in a cemetery.’

His comments come as it was claimed that Salah, Europe's most wanted man, was a regular in Brussels gay bars, smoked cannabis and spent most of his time playing on his PlayStation.

Turn himself in and risk blowback from DAESH or blow himself up?

He made contact with people over Skype.
He's described as feeling caught between a rock and a hard place, i.e.
between law enforcement and Daesh.

Not detonating your suicide vest is a no-no with Daesh, apparently..

So, it's binary:

either he manages to get to Syria (to a frosty welcome),
or he is caught by law enforcement (with a frosty welcome)

I feel sorry for him, for the choices he's made. If they can catch him, perhaps he has info also. If it's too easy, DAESH will go after his family and no matter what, he's looking at isolation in prison.

Drugs, sex, alcohol, gay sex,

ISIS is rather loose in its choice of henchmen.

described her as "panicked" that her cousin was returning from Syria. Reading between the lines, it sounds like she was an unwilling, or at least reluctant, participant. But family trumps everything in these cultures. It's a shame she didn't break free. Things may have turned out different for her, and a lot of other people.

I think ISIS might have a slight prevention against Klezmer music.

On grounds which elude me at present. It's on the tip of my kippa.
