An hour & 20 minutes into speech, people who were standing on risers on stage behind Trump-Sat Down.

Trump Vents in 95-Minute Rant

November 13, 2015By Taegan Goddard18 Comments

“For an hour and 35 minutes, Republican front-runner Donald Trump vented about everything that’s wrong with this country and this election,” the Washington Post reports.

“Gone was the candidate’s recent bout of composure and control on the campaign trail. As Trump ranted on and on, campaign staffers with microphones who were supposed to take questions from the audience instead took a seat, trying to cheer their boss here and there. The audience laughed at times and clapped for many of Trump’s sharp insults. But an hour and 20 minutes into the speech, people who were standing on risers on the stage behind Trump sat down. The applause came less often and less loud. As Trump skewered Carson in deeply personal language, a sense of discomfort settled on the crowd of roughly 1,500. Several people shook their heads or whispered to their neighbors."

Remember Sophia in The Golden Girls?--a stroke had left her with no filter for the acerbic comments flowing directly from her id.

Sure, Trump's spoiled rich brat character is part of it, but this has all been so extreme that I can't help thinking there is more to it than his regular douchiness, especially since he is allowing his behavior to tarnish and undermine his brand, and in a way that will cost him big bucks, both in the short and the long term.

At 69, Trump has entered the stage where dementia becomes significantly more common. He is also a florid, aggressive personality. If he doesn't have high blood pressure, I'll eat my hat. IOW, he is a prime candidate for stroke.

Trump's popularity with the RW, not *despite* the outflow from his unrestrained id, but *because* of it, is a scary demonstration of the attitudes and impulses of a significant portion of the electorate--especially since *that* bunch are much more focused on voting than are the more temperate and rational types on either side of the ideological divide.

This is how fascism becomes possible, then probable, and then, if such impulses are not checked, inevitable.

Remember the play-movie-play's theme? "The Producers" get a bunch of backers, all having a huge investment in the play, which they make so deliberately awful that they think it's guaranteed to fail and close the first night--that way, "The Producers" can sky off with all the money they've conned from duped investors~! Instead, the audience found it amusing and ironic, and "The Producers" were stuck with a bunch of 'hundred percent' investors who wanted a return on their investment!

"The Donald" has enjoyed an ENORMOUS amount of attention from this run--more than he likely ever expected. You can't buy the amount of publicity he's gotten. There comes a point, though, where enough is enough.

I think The Donald is running a "The Producers" scheme on the American public, and, to his horror, his racist schtick is going over like "Springtime For Hitler" did....he wanted a little attention, a little visibility, a few "take me seriously/I'm a no-nonsense kinda guy" moments, not to have to actually WORK and campaign:

"especially since he is allowing his behavior to tarnish and undermine his brand"

I agree - there is something more at play here than just the rich egomaniac angle.

Why, for instance, would he tweet all those Jeb pics with swastika - when Jeb already crashing and it makes him look bad?

He's obviously a successful business person - and would have had to listen to experts many times to reach his success level. Why isn't he smart enough to realize he needs to learn at least an iota of information to keep up with others in the debates?

Donald Trump wonders 'How stupid are the people'
By Barbara Morrill

On Thursday evening, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump gave a speech launched a 95-minute rant to the faithful in Iowa and it was … something else.

He threw insults at Hillary Clinton and Carly Fiorina, said Marco Rubio is “weak like a baby,” he promised to “bomb the shit out of” oil fields in Iraq and Syria, and called the media “scum” and “garbage.” But he directed most of his venom at—go figure, his closest rival in the race—Ben Carson.

Trump said Carson has a "pathological disease" with no cure, comparing it to the incurable mental conditions of child molesters.

"A child molester, there's no cure for that," Trump said. "If you're a child molester, there's no cure. They can't stop you. Pathological? There's no cure."

Trump mocked Carson’s story of trying to stab a friend .....
