I've worked on a neurosurgical unit. I know the pressures the docs are under and it was worse for Carson, he operated on kids. There is more than sufficient reason to crack under the strain.

Telling easily debunked lies might be part of it. Oh, he'll still get the fundie vote, those folks have never cared too much about sticking to the truth. The question now is whether this is enough to tear that party apart at long last.
