Rural Areas are Getting Their Roads and Bridges Shut Down

http://enews.earthlink.net/article/us?guid=20151026/01d91d70-89fe-4c80-886a-0539f8fb8fde
The majority of rural voters are GOP and now because of their aversion to government spending, their transportation needs are not being met. Farmers complaining having to find out of way routes because bridge built by great grandfather's generation is not safe but has to be closed because lack of funding.
The chickens have come back to roost.

Because they can no longer afford to maintain them.

And people are bitching and moaning about it.

The same people who elected our wing nut congress critter and voted Romney over Obama by about 2 to 1 in 2012.

Go figure.

utilize the infrastructure for their wealth.

Your average teaparty person has not made the connection between government and their daily lives, yet.

They will, though.

I have argued for sometime now that what we might need is for the system to crumble so they can be educated on this, but we all suffer in the process.

Their answer will be "privatization" of everything.

But the very people complaining here, RURAL folks, will be left out of infrastructure if there is no government, because the construction will only take place where the higher numbers of people are.

Try and explain it to them and all they hear is something coming from a liberal who they have been trained to believe is a commie, someone who spat on soldiers returning from Vietnam, etc.

It is exhausting dealing with them.

Yes, socialism will come to their aid, and they will oppose aid to other areas.
