What a President Hillary Clinton might encounter?

She would be the first woman President of the United States.

She would face a nation and an opposition Party the most divided in a very long time.

She would likely encounter unpredictable violence around the world, especially in the Middle East, but perhaps other places, also.

There could be civil disorder and economic turmoil if the economy turned downward once again.

She would be entering the White House at a critical time of history. Leadership and decision-making would be a necessity.

No one can really predict what she might encounter, but with the present domestic political realities, she could face one of the toughest jobs of any recent President, with the possible exception of Barack Obama.

It would be an historic time for our nation. Will she be prepared for the job? Is anyone really prepared?

Great question! With one exception, I don't think there has been one incoming president in the last century who hasn't said "WTF???" after the first thirty days.

I think the only exception was probably Reagan, who probably asked "what's with all the water?" in the middle of a rainstorm.

having the first black president followed by the first woman president, both from the democratic party, will have a *huge* long-term effect on the shape of politics going forward.

most likely, the republicans will continue to act like a cornered feral animal using its most violent tactics in a last gasp before finally accepting defeat. they will eventually yield to a new crop of practical republicans, who recognize the need to connect to an increasingly diverse electorate.

frankly, if all hillary accomplishes in office is keeping republicans out of it while they're still off the deep end, that would be a successful presidency in my book.
